About Our Survey Service
Irish Water Surveys provide boat hire for individuals, companies & institutions who wish to research the waters in & around the Irish coastline. We use the MV Tarrea Queen boat which has proved to be a terrific platform from which to carry out geophysical surveys. Depending on the survey specification & equipment, geophysical instruments can be either towed or pole-mounted. The vessel's manoeuverability has facilitated geophysical surveys ranging from shallow water inshore surveys on 20m grids to deeper water transects.
We have extensive equipment on board that will facilitate any surveyance needs. Included in this are a 3.5 tonne deck crane, a 3 tonne winch & a high power twin Doosan engine to propel everyone along.
Alongside these external facilities we have onboard facilities such as an ICOM M601 FHM Radio, Furuno Model GP-7000F GPS with NMEA output, Furuno FCV-600L single beam echo sounder with NMEA output, a Furuno Model 1623 radar, stabilised 240v ac power supply via 13a sockets, benching & seating for inboard equipment & surveyors, cable ports to the wheelhouse for routing deck/instrumentation cables.
Our onboard facilities include a small galley, a flush toilet with hot and cold water & basic cooking facilities.
